What is CRO?

CRO stands for Conversion Rate Optimisation, and it is a practice aimed at increasing the percentage of users who perform a desired action (i.e. the conversion).
In other words, it's about optimising the user experience to maximise the number of visitors who take a desired action, depending on your conversion goal.

The most common conversion goal is sales, but there are many others such as ad clicks, check-out completions, newsletter sign-ups, etc.

What's the average conversion rate?

The average conversion rate depends on thousands of factors and will vary from one sector to another.

The nature of your business, your target audience, and your conversion goal all play a big role in your conversion rate, so a good conversion rate for one business is not necessarily a good conversion rate for another business.

Instead of reaching an "average" conversion rate, we like to shift our focus on significantly improving your current conversion rate.

How do I calculate my conversion rate?

To measure your conversion rate, you simply divide the number of conversions by the total number of visitors, and multiply by 100.

Conversion Rate = (conversions / visitors) x 100

How long does it take to see results from CRO?

To start seeing results, it usually takes around 3 to 6 months, but significant improvements and ROI can take longer.

This timeline will vary depending on the competitiveness of your industry, the conversion goal, and the state of your current conversion funnel. Our team continuously monitors performance and adjusts strategies to ensure the best outcomes, keeping you informed of progress along the way.

What results can I expect to see from CRO?

While it takes some time to see significant results from CRO, small improvements still make a big difference!

Consider an ecommerce store starting at a 2% conversion rate and an average cart value of €25.
If we tell you we increased the conversation rate by 0.5% and increased the average cart value by €3, you would think it won't make that much of a difference.

Let's put the figures into perspective:

1,000,000 visitors x 2% conversion x €25 = €500,000 turnover
1,000,000 visitors x 2.5% conversion x €28 = €700,000 turnover

That's an increase of €200,000 in turnover, with optimisations that are entirely achievable and realistic over a period of 6 months to 1 year of CRO efforts.
