Objective

+Boost approached us wanting to do an April Fool’s Campaign to gain new leads and awareness. We immediately began brainstorming ideas and developing creative concepts, and these were developed further, keeping +Boost in the loop for all feedback necessary.

Process

Once we were set on the idea of creating Fake Health Vapes, we started bringing it to life. From product design, to packaging and testing. We organised photoshoots to promote the product on social media, recruited influencers for these shoots, and immediately began creating content. We created product announcements for social media and a landing page to encourage people to subscribe to this product, which is how we generated new leads for the client.

Conclusion

This was not simply a prank. The idea behind this healthy vape was to generate awareness and get people thinking, which was exactly what happened. After the product started circulating on social media, comments and shares quickly flew in, with some people expressing genuine interest and others being somewhat cautious about the product. After announcing that this was in fact a prank, we went on to explain how quick we are to take shortcuts for our health, which shouldn’t be the case, raising awareness about our health and the things we consume. This then led to people feeling more cautious and showing interest in +Boost’s selection of existing products.
